Tasty, tasty colaJan 10, 2013

Look, it's probably bad for you because it's a soda but it comes in these cute little bottles and has a fantastic lemony cola flavor with a bite to it. Delicious and different.
An Authentic Taste of SavonaFeb 01, 2012

I really enjoyed this product. I had tasted authentic chinotto while on vacation in Italy, and wanted to enjoy it here in America after I returned. An Italian friend living in the States told me about the San Pellegrino product, and I ordered a case, since I already enjoyed their bottled water. I was very happy with it. It is not identical to the brand I drank in Savona, but just as good (think Coke versus Pepsi). My family members loved it, too, and it got used up much faster than I would have liked. It's certainly not cheap, but it's easily worth it, if you love the taste of chinotto.
For those who haven't tasted it, chinotto is a citrus drink which is so dark, thick, and balsamic, that it actually tastes somewhat like Coke or Dr. Pepper. Very nice stuff. I also have some chinotto fragrance that I bought in Savona, and it has that same rich, wonderful smell. The bottles are small by American standards, but the product is very nice, and really should be sipped, not chugged. This stuff probably makes excellent and very novel mixed drinks, too.
